Navigating the icebergs

These photos were taken at around 11pm on July 6, 2012. The small boat carefully navigated its way out through the ice using oars to push away from the hazards. Although it doesn't look like much there is a lot of ice under the surface and each time there was an impact it yielded an impressive thud.

Independence Day in Iqaluit

On July 4 I walked the dogs along the beach and marveled at the mini icebergs stranded by the tide.
