This week I received an email from PayPal confirming a transaction that I did not recognize. Sure enough when I phoned PayPal to report it they took a quick look and confirmed that my account had been hacked, that the individual had made a transaction and changed the settings so that I would no longer receive email notification of transactions. Sneaky.
So I am now making a list of all my online accounts so that I can work through them and change my passwords. I dislike that someone hacked my information and I dislike that I am having to invest time and energy in addressing it. However perhaps it is a healthy reminder to conduct a personal security audit on a regular basis.
